SDFurs Code of Conduct
1. Respect and Inclusivity: We value and celebrate the diversity of our furry community. Treat all members, regardless of their species, gender, sexual orientation, race, or any other characteristic, with respect and kindness.
2. Consent and Boundaries: Always obtain consent before engaging in any physical contact or interaction with others. Respect personal boundaries and refrain from any actions or behavior that make others uncomfortable.
3. Safety and Well-Being: Prioritize the safety and well-being of all community members. Report any concerns or incidents of harassment, discrimination, or misconduct to the community organizers or designated personnel.
4. Positive Environment: Foster a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome. Encourage constructive and uplifting interactions, and refrain from engaging in bullying, trolling, or any form of derogatory behavior.
5. No Hate Speech or Discrimination: Refrain from using hate speech, making derogatory comments, or engaging in discriminatory behavior. Treat others with empathy and understanding, promoting a culture of acceptance and inclusivity.
6. Artistic Expression: Embrace the artistic nature of the furry community while respecting copyright laws and intellectual property rights. Give proper credit to artists and seek permission before using or sharing their creations.
7. Safe for Work (SFW) Environment: Keep the community content within the bounds of a safe for work environment. Refrain from sharing explicit or adult-oriented content, as it may violate the comfort levels of some community members.
8. Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts or disagreements respectfully and constructively. Refrain from personal attacks, name-calling, or spreading rumors. Engage in open dialogue and strive for understanding and resolution.
9. Event Guidelines: Adhere to the guidelines and rules set forth by event organizers or venue staff when participating in community events or gatherings. Follow all local laws and regulations and maintain a positive image of the furry community.
10. Continual Learning and Improvement: Stay open to learning, growing, and educating oneself about different perspectives, experiences, and issues relevant to the furry community. Strive to be an inclusive and understanding member of the community.
11. Keep Political Topics Productive and in Good Faith
This is a safe space to discuss current events and organize around them. We kindly ask that all discussions involving politics are kept in good faith and stay productive. Please note that this is a group of primarily queer/marginalized people, so any strongly opposing views that threaten the liberty of these members will not be tolerated and may result in you being removed.
12. Violations, Disciplinary Action, and Dispute Requests: Not every circumstance is outlined in this document, However, the SDFurs has a zero-tolerance policy for any inappropriate behavior in or out of community hubs; the SDFurs reserves the right to determine what is a violation of the SDFurs Code of Conduct.
Inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to:
Vulgar language/imagery/icons
Any type of expression of oppression/any harassment towards individuals/groups
Physical/verbal/sexual harassment
Inappropriate behavior with a minor
Misrepresenting your age/status within the community
Violations of the Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action, which includes warnings, removal from activities/events/social platforms, and temporary or permanent suspension at the discretion of the SDFurs staff.
